Univox MDF-614 microphones

Found a pair of Univox MDF-614's.... anyone have any experience with them? I can't even find a picture of them. They're old, I refuse to use the word vintage although they're likely from the early 70's.

Either no one has any experience with these mics, or your picture is scaring them.

HA!!

I've had two PM's this week, commenting on the pic. For those in the know, that's Randy from The Trailer Park Boys.

I saw one listing for these mic's on UK Ebay, and the guy wanted $75 bucks a piece. So i'm just wondering if anyone's ever had success in any application with them.

I'm gonna try electric guitar... we'll see.

Here is a pic from an old Univox catalog. I had one of these mics. It was pretty grainy sounding and distorted easily, but was good for getting weird and 'cheap' sounds. I don't know if I would pay $75 for one, but if i saw one for $15-$25 i would buy another one.

awsome reply! thanks very much. i thought $75 seemed high, but i'm sure those mic's have a bit of magic left in them. next time tom waits is over i'll use the univox to mic up his fender.
