What's John got to do with it? (got to do with it?)

We have a lot of 'big hitters' viewing this forum, some post, some prefer to stay cool and hide behind assumed names, its all good.

But yesterday it was a real pleasure to see that the engineer producer John Hudson had signed up.

He of course did the Tina Turner song "What's Love got to do with it?"

Along with a "few other" recordings here

http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p...=R88357#APPEAR

And he also owns this little joint http://www.mayfair-studios.co.uk

So ....

WELCOME TO GEARSLUTZ JOHN!

Love Tina Turner. She put on one of the best concerts I've ever seen.

I listened to that album "Mensch" and I think it sounds like complete shit. There's one good song on it. But it's
Soooo digital and harsh. To much weird sounds on it too.
Sorry John. But who am I?
I do like some of the Tina stuff.

Across the night we heard the beginning of the evening performance. "Just right" said Rawlins. "Latch on to some of these razors and towels and we'll spruce up a bit".

No pun intended. It is mixed properly, I just think the way of recording is bad. I think you have to be honest about it right?

Welcome to the forum John. I worked at Mayfair back in 1985 and I still remember how good you made those UREI 813s sound. Great mix room!

Mensch sounds digital and hard but it suits the lyrics - so I think it's the best production Herbert ever did. I believe the english mixer understood the meaning of one of the most interesting german acts. Good work.

Btw the mixes are very good on Mensch.
