Broadcast Desk Purchase Advice

Hey all,

The tv station I work for are looking to get a new desk. We're upgrading from the toy piece of junk behringer DDX3216.
It's for broadcast but the reason we're upgrading is mainly because of the amount of live music we're doing so it's main focus is more toward that.

I'm currently thinking of a yamaha M7cl, it needs to be digital really because of the variety of programs that gets done on it and mainly speed of recalls between bands. It's also been hard enough to convince the powers that be that we need a new desk, convincing them about outboard as well would be even more of a ball ache, we're limited space wise as well.

Can anyone else think of any alternative for around the same money, I think we're looking at between £11,000 and £12,000 for the M7.

Could do with

-32 mic inputs - we've got 16 channels of octopre also available so ADAT ins are a possible, I would prefer self contained though.
-As little frickin' layer flipping as possible, so 32 physical faders at least to go with it.
- Comps/gates on Every channel, internal fx etc.
- separate DCAs ie on separate physical faders would be good.

thanks in advance,

Bulley
