samplemoog, arturia minimoog v

I have tried booth arturia minimoog v and ik multimedia samplemoog. Minimoog v is a software synth and samplemoog is based on samples from real moogs. I have never tried the real thing. To my ears the samplemoog have much better sound quality. Could it be more of the way the samples were recorded? With higher sample rates and such? Or does a real moog sound that much better right out of the box?

Nothing beats the real thing. I have a old midied minimoog model d that i still use a lot.It just sounds thicker and more rich than the software versions,although the software versions do offer the sound of a moog at a much cheaper price. If you can afford it i would check out a moog voyager or a moog little phatty. If you dont have the money you can still go with the software versions.

I'm shure the moog samples has been processed with some nice analog gear plus i been it's been recorded with a nice pre/DI.

I'd recommend to also check out the Gforce Minimonsta. I have this plug and it's really great.
