surely you would just adjust the frequency untill it sounds right? I would normally find this to be under 200 hz, and then dependant on the tuning of the tom narco

| I'm with you on this. It really depends on each drum for me. If the drum was tracked with too much low end, a higher freq hp may work, but with a more gradual roll off.

| iaiicss: whats left man? I find that tom 1 and 2 usually benefict from a lift somewere between 100 hz and 180hz, then at 3k . If you do this due to drum leakage when toms are not playing better to gate them or mute...

Honestly I usually go with whatever the highpass is on the preamp Im using...if the preamp doesnt have that feature then usually around 80-100...maybe lower for the floor tom.
