Equation Gear

OK, I must've fallen asleep on this one... Equation Audio.

Who are these guys? What's their gear like? Good headphones or good mics? Worth using?

I need more info, I feel a bit out of the loop on this gear...

None of the mics looked that compelling to me. If they were available, I'd try them.

The preliminary stuff on the Professional series mics looke interesting, but it's been "coming soon" for over a year now.....

I bought two of their rp21 tracking headphones. They sound excellent. They could not take the same amount of gain without distorting as my AKG k271, but so did my beyerdynamic DT770. They cost almost 3 times less and if you wear those phones more than 10 secs at the volume they start to distort you could became deaf. They are definitely loud enough. I head two live sessions with them one given to drummer and the other to guitar player no complaints whatsoever. RP 21 sounds tight and punchy, it helps musicians play better. The cups could be a little more closed but they give enough isolation. I am planing to buy two more. Great product.

ps I didn't like the extended bass version they sound mushy and lack punch also they are more expensive.
