Thread Starter | FF800 analog out vs FF800 spdif out?
Which one do you prefer when mixing out of the FF800? Don't know why, but the analog outs to me sound warmer and better depth. But the digital out seems like the transients are sharper and the sound is more in your face. What is your conclusion? |

What are you sending the SPDIF out to before you go to your monitors?

assuming that you're running the spdif into your computer, the difference you're hearing is between the two d/a converters (the RME vs. your computer's). Plus, if you're comparing headphones, the headphone amps, plus... hard to say without more info on what you're comparing. |

What I am talking about is receiving the optical adat built inside of the Mac G5 into the the Presonus Central Station optical in then out the CS (analog) to my speakers. Verses: Receiving the signal from FF800 then into my CS (analog) then analog out of the CS to my speakers. Guys forget this thread all together, I am going to write another one that is Central Station specific. Sorry! | |
