My favorite album of Extreme!
Could you tell me a bit?
Of course some will say "Drummers matter mostly"

Love this album, Very good playing, and excellent vibe. I put it on last summer and was still really into it.

Do a search cause I remember there was a lot of talk about Pornografiti. with Bob St John

All you need to make a record is a mic, some tape and maybe some bad reverb...

tone and songwriting, one of the great albums of all time. I though this is the album where they really came together - it sounded like an album, not a mix tape. :D

great drum sounds, great bass guitar sounds and even greatest guitar sounds.

That guy Mike Mangini was sick. Great drummer.
I thought porno had a better drum sound though
Paul played on that though.

I remember an interview with Bettencourt where he was saying how much the place they recorded in (Criteria Studios, Miami) had a major impact on the sounds they were getting. The huge room of the stduio where they cut basics had the most results on the drums sounds. If you listen closely you can hear the guide guitar tracks buried in the mix (probably a spill on drums OHs or room mics) as they were recorded together with the drums, and then replaced. Great bass sounds (one of my references when I'm mixing rock tracks), and Bettencourt...well. he's one of my all time favorites, no matter what guitar/amp he's using. For this record he made huge use of a fender Strat and an old Fender Twin pushed to the limits for the rythm tracks, his Washburn guitars and several stompboxes (the most evident is the MXR Phase 90 in the first song, There is no God). Lots of Zeppelin vibe in the record.
