Why are there no 500 series FX units?

Like the title says. I know alot of you guys use FX ITB, but for those of us that do FOH work, it would be great if someone made a verb/delay unit in 500 series format. And beyond this it would be nice if they made a unit that had F%^&ing knobs instead of menus. I do a lot of work where I walk in and don't get much of a sound check, I don't have time to scroll through menus on your typical FX box. I want to be able to turn a knob and hear the difference. There should be a knob for decay time and especially a knob for predelay, a few switches for different algorithms would be great to.

Basically someone should make a 500 series pcm60, that has control over predelay times. I would buy it in a second, and I don't think I'm alone in this. Any thoughts?

Sounds good to me... I wouldn't mind seeing a two unit wide version with a simple switchable mono/stereo function. Selectable Hall, room, plate, ambience and delay algorithms with predelay & decay knobs sounds great.

Totally...

...and more to the point (500 series aside) why don't more fx boxes just have knobs. The tc m300 does n't have high end algorithms but it has a great interface. Menus and mini lcd screens suck- Why don't manufacturers know this?

Agreed. I absolutely HATE all of those 3" long LCD screens. A serious pain in my ass and vibe killer when I'm on my ass on the floor, out of my chair, 2 inches away from a 2.5" LCD screen trying to call up a delay setting.

Big fan of the eventide stuff but way over the new interface (eclipse)
