When a bunch of 44.1khz tracks are mixed down, the high frequencies above 10khz will always phase cancel to some degree (its a 50/50 chance each cycle...remember, 2 samples-per-cycle) causing those unfocused, edgy highs in your mix.

This, along with almost everything else in your post, is wrong on so many levels. You get more than 4 samples per cycle at 10 kHz, and more than 2 at 20 kHz...you don't get 2 samples per cycle at any frequency. And where you pulled the "50/50" chance thing from I have no idea...

First, 44.1/16 has pretty much topped out, quality-wise.

How do you know?

Also, keep in mind that all but the last few posts in this thread are from 2007...

Well, he implicitly stated that mixers don't actually do anything in no. 7, where he implied that just by tying wires together, the total voltage magically becomes the sum of all the voltages that you've tied together (this is implicit from the statement that "whenever you apply multiple voltages, the current in the wire becomes the sum of the currents due to the individual voltages" or however he phrased it).
