Which soundcard

Hi people,

please dont go crazy over the subject - I bet there's a million posts regarding soundcards and ad da converters. If so please bare over me.

Which soundcard is best suitet for my needs? I only need 2 mic inputs (pre's not important) and of course the ad da converters need to be briliant. I need to record vocals only (perhaps guitar too), but quality needs to be excellent.

I've looked at the RME Fireface 400 and would prefer something a little cheaper. Like f.i TC Electronics Konnekt 8 (heard very good things about this) - or is the EMU 1616M's converters any good?

I've also thought about M-Audio Profire Lightbridge merely for the possibility of me upgrading ad/da in the future. But is RME's really the only one making decent converters ???

Right now I have; SE Titan + Avalon VT 737 ... which soundcard do I need?

Thanks in advance.

Have u thought about a lynx One/L22/Two card? Aren't the most sexy looking cards on the planet, but they sound smashing!
RME also has the ADI-2, but u will still need some S/Pdif card to interface with your PC.
The EMU 1616 really ain't bad, but nowhere near the lynx I mentionned imo.

Hadn't thought of Lynx ... they any good? Any chance theres a soundclip of vocals recorded with one the lynx's + info about mic and preamp?

Any other advices are appreciated as well - Firewire preferably.

Edit: Anyone got more info about the converters in EMU 1616m ?? It looks kinda interesting ...
