Digi 002 Rack vs MBOX

hey everyone --

Right now i have an MBOX, and was thinking about switching to a Digi 002 Rack.
Im only using this for vocals ( i run into the MBOX from a Focusrite ISA220 ),
so will i get better sound using the Digi 002?
Or am i mainly just paying for more inputs/outputs....

Would i be smarter to just buy a really good a/d convertor and go from my Pre Amp through that and into my MBOX via S/PDIF?

Any insight would be appreciated! :)

Thanks

A used Appogee Rosetta or used Lucid AD96 would improve your sound more than getting a 002 would. The Focurite pres you have now are better than the 002 pres. The converters in the 002 are, at best, marginally better than the M-Box converters.

I'm using a DIgi001, and bypassed the pres and converters. Sounds great. I have no need or use for a 002.

Yeah the MBOX has built in pre's as well... ( Focusrite Green's )...

If i go in via S/PDIF from the convertor, will that bypass the pre's in the MBOX?

Thats the main problem... i dont want extra color to the mic sound...
