2 Mic Pre's

I would like opinions on the Chandler Germanium and the UA LA 610.
These are the two pres I'm looking at in this price range.
Any more suggestions?
Will be used for vocals, acoustic gtr, elec gtr, percussion, drums.
Thanks!

I'm ordering the Chandler germanium in 500 form this week. I like the 610 for most things but may not be a go to pre. I love it on bass!!

Yeah. I'm looking for a main go to pre. Something that is great for most things.
I've also been looking at the Summit 2ba-221.
Any thoughts on this one?

Get a lunchbox with a pre. You'll be happy.

+1 for the lunchbox. You'll have way more options. I'm actually getting a couple P1's, the Germ, MP500 NV, and more API this week.

I've been torturing myself about a lunchbox for months. But I just have the money for one big purchase at the moment. That's why I was looking at the other 2 pres. Lunchbox looks pretty cool and I've used API pres before so I know how they sound.
So how many votes for the Lunchbox over Chandler and UA LA 610?

I like the UA. My favorite tube pre. The germanium I thought sounded horrible.

I wasnt a fan of the germ either. The UA 610 is a complete workhorse and it has more than just a pre.It gets used here quite often for vocals, acoustic, bass. At mix I slam the kick with it.Though a luchbox would be more effiecient,it just depends on how much coolaid you wanna drink

I use the 610 on bass, piano and drums all the time, and love the results. Its no longer my go-to for vocals, snare or acoustic though -- the Neve Portico 5012 is handling those duties with great aplomb.

The Great River should definitely be on your shopping list though. Perhaps the most versatile of the bunch.
