Is there such a thing as extension cord for headphones?

I would like to get a 12-15 feet extension cord for my headphones (from my headphone jack to the vocal booth), is there such a thing? And if so what exactly should I be getting and where?

thank you

I have one that I bought at Radio Shack. I think it might be 10 ft. long.

Go Here: Headphone Extension Cables from zZounds.com, buy several they dont last to long. They take a little abuse.

Short answer: yes, and the Mogami ones from Guitar Center are fantastic.

I bought 2 (1 coiled and 1 straight) and so far so good but I don't expect them to last.
All the ones I've had in the past have broken or gone intermittent.

However on one session I had to extend the headphones much farther than those would allow. I had a male 1/4 stereo to XLR adapter and another XLR to female 1/4" adapter. I used a microphone cable in between and voila! Instant extension. Not cheapest solution but will work for any length (just connect more mike cables to each other for more length).

thanks a lot for your input guys

i just did a search on the web and foud a TheCableFactory.net :: Mogami & Canare Audio Cables -- XLR, Guitar, 1/4, 1/8, Microphone, Custom and More - they have both Mogami and Canare headphone extension cords I guess i'll just have to find some other places to compare prices...

btw, in addition to getting headphone extension i'm also planning to upgrade all my cables, would anyone know if Canare cables are just as good as Mogami? - they are a little cheaper...

MoreMe Studio Headphones (the extension cable is at the bottom.)

There's a list of places that sell them at the top. $7 for 25'. They work great! (The headphones are good too!)

Thanks for the link Alex. I was looking for a cheap headphone extension and the spring-clip mic holders so I ordered both. (Their prices are pretty cheap).

I'll have to check those out.

Whatever you do, don'y buy any made by Hosa!! They are pure junk, and you'll be lucky if they last you more than a month or two before shorting out.

One ish I had with cheap headphone extensions (think Circuit City/Rat Shack) was poor connections/mircrophonics at the male-female connection.

This is one place where buying a good cable with a real warranty/guarantee might be advisable.

Btw, you'll need real power amps to go the distance ..small headphone mixer don't cut it, sound-wise.

Thanks. Got the order; it'll go out airmail tomorrow.

BTW, the 25' headphone cables are pretty rugged. They should last you a long time.

I like Canare - that's what I use for my cabling. I haven't A/B'd it with Mogami, but haven't had much reason to.
