| Ok, while I got only swallowing gold fishes in my other thread http://gearslutz.com/board/showthrea...threadid=15107 meanwhile I got inspired from someone elsewhere to think about DATs. My goal is to have something that could track 24/32bit 96k without making noise, without having onboard convertors ( at least no A/D ) and giving me at best 2 or 4 lossless tracks. Would this apply to a DAT recorder? And is there a model you would call a bang for the buck? ( Being good, but far, far away priced from anything named Radar or Rolls Royce? ) Thanky, Ruphus

| No dat will do this. The closest you will come is a nagra unit that is far from reasonably priced. There is a tascam hr45 that does 24 bit 48k audio. This is only 2 track. I think you need a masterlink to do 24/96, or a laptop with interface to do more than 2 track work. Frost |
