| Gear Head | Sonar Producer Edition 6- Request help/advice!
I'm looking for a DVD or anything similar to help me get to better understand my Cakewalk Sonar 6 Producer Edition Software so I can begin to record and apply this recording gear. If anybody knows of any of these items, please let me know; as I haven't found what I need yet. Thank You to all!

There are a lot of videos on youtube. Otherwise read the instruction manual, play with the program, and go to the cakewalk forums because there will be more people using the program to answer your questions.

The help files are quite comprehensive and you should be able to become more than competent simply reading them. Also, the Sonar "Power" books are a good resource as well.

Be patient with yourself, it's a fairly deep piece of software. I started on Sonar 3 PE, still don't know everything about it after 3 years. I use S6 also, there's just lots to learn. The Sonar forum at the Cakewalk site is a great resource, suggest you go get signed up and dive in, it's a friendly place.

The sooner you read through the keyboard shortcuts and learn how to use the keybinding function the faster you'll get to know the program. Everyone's different, but that's what helped me learn more about Sonar.

Another suggestion is the Scott Garrigus "Sonar Power" books. Very informative from start to finish.
