API 1608

For those who went to AES: Did API have anything at all to say about the automation other then "available in 2008"?

DAW control, anything?

Talking to the api guys, they said it "was in development" with nothing set in stone.

I quickly lost interest after that. If I'm dropping 50k on one of those consoles, in these days, I'm gonna want automation.

Great looking board. I just don't understand why they wouldn't incorporate at least automation.......

go figure.

I suspect that it's because motorfader automation (who would want VCA's with THAT console) is really expensive and would definately put it out of the price range of almost everyone who would want one. (if it isn't already. I mean, really, we all love to talk the talk, but who's going to lay down 50+G's for a 16 channel board. Some I'm sure, but will they even sell 50.....maybe 100?? I wish them the best though cause it's cool...)

And a DAW controller....?? Why???? Better to buy a C24 and put if off to the side.

And the promised automation (on their own website) is still 'under development'.
