Adding Compressor

I'm relatively new to outboard hardware, so not sure how i would add a compressor for the purpose of tracking and using it on the mix buss

currently i have a lynx 2 soundcard, 4in/4out.

I also have a single channel pre, so this uses one of the ins, and i have 2 outs going to an m-patch for monitoring. So i have 3 ins and 2 outs to use

How do i hook up a compressor in this scenario? Say a portico 5043, which is what i'm looking into

Any help is appreciated
