Need Single Drum Pad + Brain for Live Handclaps Etc.

I'm trying to setup the simplest of simple units so I can do handclaps and extra sounds at live shows. I'd love if I could just buy a V-Drum grey pad and hook that into a simple brain where I could store sounds and such. I'm not looking for one of those big flat panels with 6 or so sectors on it.

Is this possible? If not, what's the simplest alternative so I can get some samples while playing live, triggered off an external pad? Thanks!

Well that is a brain and a trigger all in one. It seems like I could also just hook up an external single Roland pad and use it with this so I don't have to worry about the multiple pads on there.

Are there any SIMPLE brains out there that would work with a single Roland pad? I can't seem to find answers anywhere for what I'm trying to setup. It seems so easy but I don't think it's been done but verybadly want to be wrong.

It seems as though the Alesis DM5 would work with a single pad... can anyone confirm?

The Alesis DM-5 will work , but it can't hold user samples.

You could also get something like the Roland SPD -S, which has multiple pads but can store your samplese directly on it.

You can buy a cheap trigger and attach it to pretty much anything, block of wood, etc.

Sorry no reccomendations for a brain.
