Black Lion Audio Microclock...

Has anybody given this thing a good workout yet? Looks like an excellent alternative to some of the more expensive options.

Any thoughts?

Yea..
Would like to hear some thoughts about this myself.

Was planning to mod my 003 Console, but living in Europe
the shipping back and forth will be too much...I guess,
so maybe this one is the right solution.

Yes, I've read all the info/reviews on the BLA site.

So anyone ?

I have the MicroClock. Been using it/listening for a little while now and I say it works/sound good! Pretty simple looking tho' which Matt plainly says on the website. Haven't compared it to any of the " Hi-end" clocks ( Big ben, Antelope, etc.), but I definately hear a difference with what I 'm currently using. I'm using a PreSonus LT which was modded by Black Lion. ( the only one Matt has done!..thumbsup) and HD24-XR. As I said before, after syncing these up with the MicroClock, it was sorta like when you use a sequencer and use the quantize fuction. ( lightly)..... Everything tightens up sound wise. ( tighter bottom end, cleaner hi's) Especially audible on playback ( even on previous recorded tracks ). I guess the clock helps the DA converters also! The converters on the XR as most people knows, sound pretty good stock. But the MicroClock makes them sound better ( IMHO). As I stated, I've never used the BigBen/Antelope, etc., so I don't know how the MicroClock compare to them. But as far as the clock on the XR and PreSonus, it's definately a step up from them! As always...YMMV......

I like the idea. I would trade one of the word clock outs for a spdif out for the 002/Mbox crowd.
