can't make it. MSG boxing event.

How late will the gearslutz party go? After the fight, I usually head to Jimmy's Corner for the promoter's after party. But, if I can still make it to the gearslutz bash, I will spilt the night out.

RSVP at the main GS party thread linked to below or by email to jules AT gearslutz.com

As always folks pay for their own food & drinks

Lurkers are more than welcome! You don't have to be a big thread poster to attend!

And you don't really have to RSVP to attend, but it would be nice if you could....

This is one of the hippest new locations in NYC!

See you there!
TOP TIP: Make a note of the address in your diary now!
How convenient... my studio is on 21st St, between 5th and 6th also.

If you're driving, there's no street parking anywhere in the area and 20th and 21st Street are closed to cars on the weekends (no cars=no drive bys). I can't remember if they close down 22nd or not. Watch where you step, there are always a half dozen police horses around...

Where is the closest parking if you please?

On foot, Worst case scenario, no taxis available or if its raining, what the best way to get there from the Javits? Walk? Or is it too far..?

Should people parked up for the conference leave their cars where they are, come eat, then go back to them?

Thanks for any advice,

I have a serious feeling you'll see the Mercenary Crew there in full effect... including Jay, Adam, Moi, Billy... as well as Brooklyn Tony, Callahan... and several of the "ice girls".

Let's get ready to rummmmmmbbllllllllllle!!

There's a lot 20 feet away, but it will be about $45 for the evening. It's probably substantially cheaper to park once, even if you're paying, and take a cab.

Cab from Javits, or the F train to 23rd. The N&R are pretty close to. 1 and 9 less close.

It's probably a 20-25 minute walk.

Also, if I reacall correctly, the last time I was at AES, there were all sorts of guys in car service cars making street pick ups and charging 2-3x what a cab should cost.

A cab should be around $10 plus tip. If traffic is bad, maybe as much as $15 including tip. You can trust the meters. If there are no regular cabs and you can get away with $4-5 per passenger, that's pretty good.

ok - looks like I won't be able to make it after all - Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings are playing at the Apollo that night so looks like I'll be uptown instead. For those who are looking for amazing music on that weekend - you can't go wrong with this show - MySpace.com - Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings - Brooklyn, New York - Soul / Funk / R&B - www.myspace.com/sharonjonesandthedapkings

Best regards,

I'd love to be there as well though I'm pretty new to the slutz community! I'll be there all the way from Germany and would really enjoy to have a chat with you guys and reflect on the show, share experiences and discuss about what country makes the best beer... ;-)

I hope that I'm not to late so would you count me in, please?

take care,
Julian
