Bassman 25: Worth it to record or stick to Sansamp?

I have a chance to pick up one of those little Bassman 25 slant combos for pretty cheap. Is it even worth it for recording?
I'm usually pretty happy going direct with a sansamp-->dbx 160/163comp and into either my SCA pre's or Chameleon Labs pres.

Will it be worth it to put a mic in front of for the "cab sound" if it's a solid state 25 watt combo amp?

If its what im thinking of NO. Its one of those tilt backs made in the last 10 years or so. Ive never played a fender bass amp I remotely liked made in the last 10 years. I had a hartke little thing, same basic kinda of amp, that blew it out of the water. They have terrible tone, your better off with anything else IMHO.

I don't think I've mic'ed a bass amp in the last 4 or 5 years. A decent D.I. and pre smokes most amps for recording.
