Could very well be a neumann km 86- multipatern/side adress mic, but the picture is not so clear.

Is it just me, or is the mic 180 degrees off axis?

Is the neumann km 86 a good mic for guitars? what else is it good for?
Guessing Nick Didia must have a vibe on it.

My first guess would have been the Gefell as well...so, what's that a +3 for that mic? I'm not familiar with the Shure that someone mentioned, but didn't really know that the Neumann was a candidate for guitar cabs. The Gefell's are pretty nice.
later,

| MORE PIERRICK!
Looks like a KM86 to my eyes as well. Shame the picture does not give us enough definition to discount this or other mics of this type.
We need more Pierrick. Thanks for bringing this back!!

I read a interview with Nick Di Dia in a free magazine here in Oz and when asked what his essential recording chain was, he replied, "Neumann KM86, Neve 1073/1066, LA2A and a tape machine". My guess is that it's a KM86 in the picture.

Guessing Nick Didia must have a vibe on it. | for grand piano on dark side of the moon they used two km86i
it`s good for snare too.
if you look at the making of black album (metallica) you see the km86i on top of the snare.
I`m lucky to have one, so i know it is the 86

The photo is a bit blurry, but from what I can see the head/grill of the mic seems a bit too long to be a KM86. I would go with a Gefell UM/UMT 71
