I've got real vintage Quad Eight preamp rack-ups for sale in the classified area at a lower price.

One is the real thing and one is a remake of the real thing (only a later version of the real thing, the Pacifica console with AM10 op amp in it not AM4 op-amps)

Yeah, that seems just about right. They will pop up in the classified section once in a while. Good luck!

After A Design 2 channel settled in to the pocket, (by all means they are a lot of engineers that love em better than life itself) just by looking at ebay and gearslutz classifieds over the past few months, you just do not see as many API second hand for sell, looks like some A Design users have lost interest in the product, but only a few.But i would say the 2 channel version 2nd hand would go for 1400.00, that sounds about right to me, use your on judgement.

The Pacifica only comes in a 2 channel version. There is no option to buy a single channel pacifica.

They are both amazing and of similar quality and general price point. At this point you are just talking subjective differences. I am in love with the Pacifica. Its my favorite mic pre and probably the most flexible pre I have ever used, but I would gladly make a record with nothing but a rack of Great River pres.

I actually had the opportunity to sample the Pacificas at Ronan's Studio and they are amazing.

I own the Great Rivers and they are amazing.

Hope that clarifies things!
