| So What About the URS EQ Plugins? You'll find a lot of people will say some nice things about some of the newer eq plugins... But even the one's that claim to be emulating Pultecs sound nothing short of fizzy and muddy to me... I have yet to find an eq that can do to the sound what a simple analog design can do. Specifically, I can't find a plugin eq that can add the same amount of energy as a decent analog eq. Take for instance the eq on the AMR 1600. If you add upper mids to a snare, it really starts to punch out. If you do the same with most any digital plugin eq, you hear the increase in sound of upper mids but you don't FEEL IT. So now to the subject, what are the thoughts on those URS plugs? I don't use Pro Tools at all anymore and I can't try them out, but I'm just hoping that someone can code an eq to sound like a real eq. Anyone A/B'd? | I like the URS EQ's so far (running the demo), but i can't really compare them to the real stuff (don't have those ;-) ). They should be out soon as AudioUnit as well, so then you maybe can try them for yourself. Another interesting ones are the Sonalksis plugins: www.sonalksis.com |

| Having had the pleasure of using the real deal of both Neve and API EQ's,along with not really caring for most plugin EQ's, I think that the URS plugs are some of the most realistic sounding and fuctioning that have been released to date. If we have to use plugins lets have more like this. ![]() |
