As far as fabric you can use anything that is breathable (you can blow through it). Hope that helps. Glenn

| Guilford of Maine is the cloth covering that most acoustic panels have on them. Do a google search. You can buy it by the bolt. Different colors and textures to choose from. | opened celled fabric. If you hold it up to your mouth and blow through it then it should be fine.

| OK - thanks a lot. I'm asking because the fibres of the European equivalent of 703 - Rockwool - is notoriously terribly for the indoor climate and and breathing and so on... so I hope the fabric doesn't have to be too open celled for it to maintain it's acoustic properties. |

| burlap is probably the cheapest and easiest fabric to use. That's what I've covered my panels with.

If it was me, I would stick with the GOM. Heck you are going to put a lot of sweat (maybe even a couple blisters on your hands) why not go with the best? Glenn

| I made bass traps based on Jon Risch's tube design. I wrapped a layer of 100% polyester on top of glass fiber and covered the polyester with burlap. The polyester prevents fibers getting in your lungs. |
