BOTH!!! Diffusion will happen naturally with random placement of gear and furniture.Wrap 703 panels in a breathable material and suspend them from a 2X4 stud-truss system. No more comb filtering!

Absorbtion on low ceilings will help raise the apparent ceiling height, making the room sound "taller." Hard floors floors will help make most recordings (acoustic guitars, violins and other stringed acoustic instruments, drums, piano, etc) sound more natural (from the "early reflections).

Absorption...at least 4" of 703. Too low, placing you too close for diffusion to make a noticable difference. |

If this is in a control room then maybe diffusion in the back of the room ceiling might work pretty well. For the spot over the mix your ceiling is WAY to low to get the benefit from diffusion so you are much better off with absorption. Glenn

| Erm . . . do we even know how big the room is? If the back of the room is too close behind the mix position, diffusors have the potential to make absolute soup out of your imaging.

Absorbtion for sure. Also, search the forums for "low ceiling"....
