Converter/Preamp help!

Hello.

I'm runing a digi 003.. I'm looking to upgrade my ADC and my DAC.. I have around $1500 to send on it.

I'm also looking for a nice preamp for recording acoustic and detailed music.. something rich :-) About $2k to spend

Cheers

I realise i put literally no info in there.

Basically I wanna get an AD DA ADAT converter to plug into my 003 to use to mix to and from an analogue board.

I plan to use the built in converters from the 003 to mix alongide the higher end ones.

Is this a good idea? Or would I be better just upgrading to some really decent high end AD/DA converters and mix entirely ITB scrapping the board?

Thank you
