Just a little patience with a table saw...

Finally got my home made rack all loaded up. For $93, it's hard to complain. Anyone else got some pictures of their home made racks? I don't think i'll ever buy one again. Two 16 space ones like this would've been $175/each.

Very nice. Care to share the plans? The how to? Most racks for sale look pretty boring: melamine, the alien spaceship look, the requisite black paint surfaces etc. Yours actually look decent.

Good job.

Nice job!

I went for a simple design with an oak veneer.... matches the ash on my Trident S65 pretty well.

The gears changed a bit and the photo's not all that great but here's mine...

Nice rack! That's how the acoustic designers do it...they just make the racks while doing the construction. I think you did a great job...they're really pretty.

The plans aren't anything special. I knew I wanted a slant starting at 20" depth at the bottom and going to 14". I had to buy 10" boards because i wanted 5/4" thick, so a lot of glueing was involved initially. After, i cut the sides knowing I was going to use 16 space rails with an extra 3" top and bottom for molding. Once they were done, cut the bottom. Then messed with the top with overhang to see how it would look. I used 3/4" cleats for all the joints so i didn't have to screw from the outside. I preferred the cleaner look, but plus i think it's it gives some more support along with the screws.

I don't know if that's what you were interested in, but it's was nothing extremely planned out. I have the plans on cad actually only because i work at an engineering firm and got bored one day and figured I might as well use the software to my advantage.

Great job, Brandon! I made my own racks too, but they don't look nearly as nice as yours. I wanted to build a slant design, but my place is so little that it would have taken away to much room. I also built the enclosure for my Midas Venice, which turned out alot nicer than the racks. It was also way more work, though.

Here's a pic.

I have built this wooden box; it took me a whole day, and one big failure.

The Behringer rack, made of a guitar stand and a skateboard

This is not a rack but I like the picture.

Dim,
What do you think of that mindprint piece? I've seen them but never used them. Always thought that circuit thingee looked cool.
