How does Calrec Equate to Neve?

Like it's my understanding that they were the broadcast initiative of the same company but since it's marketing strategy wasn't aimed
at the recording industry, it wasn't as revered.

But...Their versions are all segmented by number...PQ15, PQ1181, 1073, 1053, etc. How does it all add up?

Are there any parallels?

In my opinion the Calrec PQ15S is most similar to a Neve 1073... similar lay out and somewhat similar sonics.

Let me be clear, a PQ15S does not in any way sound identical to a 1073, however, it definitely has a noticeable amount of the same flavoring.

The 1073 is full on "Neve crunch"... the PQ15S also has "Neve crunch", but just a bit less of it... it's slightly "cleaner" overall but still with the classic Neve character.

I use my PQ15S units when I want the classic 1073 flavor but not an extreme amount of it. The 1073 of course is "extreme" and can sometimes be "too extreme" for a lot of things depending on what you're going for.

The PQ15S is a great module and still way undervalued in my opinion.
