Are All Acoustically Treated Rooms the Same?

Diff'rent sizes and shapes, all treated well - will they sound the same? Or will there still be some room effect?

think about that for just a second and the answer will be obvious. Unless the roooms are turned into anechoic chambers they will always be different rooms so will always sound different. You can treat a room so it's live or dead and any gradation in between

Two rooms would have to be absolute identical twins in every way to sound the same down to the gear, furniture, people sitting in them.

The goal of acoustic treatment is to get rid of really nasty peaks, valleys, and excessive reverb times.

Even a very experienced engineer would probably listen to some reference material before working in a new room to get his bearings.

You already got the right answer - all rooms sound different even if treated.

It's impossible to make any small room perfectly flat. Even with a ton of bass traps there will still be peaks and nulls and ringing. So all you can aim for is to treat is as best you can, with as many bass traps as possible.

Two rooms could sound the same to a listener if they were REALLY huge!
