to much snare in hi hat mic

Hi guys

Just finished a mix but the drummer wants more hi hat. Trouble is, there's to much snare in the hihat track. Apart from eq is there anything else I can do to reduce the snare in the hi hat track. Usually its the other way round (to much hi hat in snare mic!)

Cheers

Duck it using the snare track for the key input.
play around with attack/release/ratio settings to find the right envelope.

yes ducking is the way to go, unless you wanna manually edit/draw out, but if you have that capability you must have ducking available also...

you are right, it is usually the other way around...

in the future try (if you can) recording in a bigger room... believe it or not that helps a lot...

there are also other things such as mic positioning and, if at all necessary, baffling that might help
