Kinda robotic voice help

I'm recording a vocalist at the moment and we are trying to get a kind of robotic vocal effect...best way i can describe it is kind of like what cher has used.

At the moment we are using melodyne and really over doing the drift and so on to get it there. Does anyone know of any other plug ins that can give me that almost robotic sound.

Cheers

Try running it through a vocoder or ring modulator. After you ultra-pitch-correct.

i've gotten a robotic/numanish effect by parallel processing the clean vocal with an autotuned vocal. the singer is always a little flat (it's handy that this suits the music) so it worked surprisingly well. i tried a similar thing with another singer but put a heavy tremolo on the autotuned track which gave it an interesting 'choppy' feel.
