Publishing advances --- whats happening nowadays for new unreleased artists?

I know the traditional moves are to hang in there until your song/album charts or climbs the charts..

But what (ballpark) are new artists getting nowadays when they go the "get signed to publisher first" development route?

I'm guessing its pretty low.
