Lets hear some before/after vocals!

Guys, please post some before/after vocals. BEFORE and AFTER autotune/melodyne.

I'd like to get an idea of what a great engineer can do with a crappy vocal.

Sorry for attaching whole songs, but here's what I have.

This is a band I recorded about a year ago. I really wanted the vocalist to retrack the vocals, but he refused. His voice was going after a whole day of tracking, but he decided to use the classic line: "Oh. Well.. Nick can fix it in the mix."

"2.mp3" is the very rough mix they begged out of me. The other is the version that appeared on the split they recorded it for.

Sorry, I'm not a "great engineer". I do feel like I made the tracks bearable, though. "Solid", even.

Sounds really good nick! I liked the song before the yelling parts, but the mix it 10 times better. Did you use autotune or just some compression?

I guess it was a little more obvious when you're right there. Haha. It definitely wasn't AWFUL. I wouldn't let it stay if it was.

His voice was gone. A lot of quivering that I had to smooth over.

Thanks! Lots of compression and quite a bit of Autotune. All the Autotuning was in graphical mode, not auto. **** auto. dfegad
