Kick drum mics as Death Metal Vocal Mic?!

Here me out before you yell at me, but I have personally found that some kick drum mics have turned out to be excellent death metal vocal mics for the guttural or "cookie monster" vocal. The Audix D6 really brings out the low end and the top of the "throat" sound in my opinion. The sennheiser e602 II doesn't have as much low end response with it but it definitely gets the throaty sound out of it and give it more clarity. Has anyone else had good luck in this area?

Nothing thats specifically a kick mic...
I've definitely had good results using dynamic mics for aggressive vocalists.

I guess a lot of people use 421's on kick and I use them on vocals...

So yes to answer your question.

Try some super heavy compression or limiting on the vocal and see how you like it.

I'm in love with this chain for aggressive vocals right now:
421 --> 512c --> 1176 (all buttons in)

A Heil PR 40 fits this bill. Tool uses it on kick on the road and Killers used it on vocals for Sams Town. Does that count? RE20's as well, still valid on both applications.
