Monitor noise

Hey guys,

Maybe a strange question, but I was hoping that I would get rid of the noise that my amp generates fueling my cheap KRK passive monitors by buying active monitors (Samson Rubicon 8 A)

I mean...they are really great, but when I am mixing I can not get used to the noise that I hear (sometimes even jitterish noise..)

I use a G5 with a RME Hammerfall HDSP. I tried to click different values in the Hammerfall settings (maybe the sound would improve, but unfortunately not). It almost sound like it is an earthing problem..a
I know....just lower the volume...but that is not it....When you are mixing 8 hours a day you will end up in a sanatarium this way

Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

Make sure your power cables are not running parallel to any audio (speaker)cables of any sort.

Are you running the outs to the amp on balanced cables?

Also, try moving your amp a bit. Line level can go 100' easy and 20-30' on speaker cable to the ST8 shouldn't be a problem (they don't draw that much power or have any cross-over weirdness).
