NOOB on Melodyne (and Auto tune).. Any tips or tricks?

Melodyne seems to be far more easier to use than Auto Tune. Been testing the free trial of Melodyne against my older auto tune 4 and I just love the easy way of moving the vocal parts around (in the very graphical way) that melodyne uses..

What (if any) is the general consensus here on Gearslutz on these 2 products.. Which is the easiest and most efficient way to get vocals in tune and maybe do some more advanced editing if needed?

And to melodyne users here on gearslutz: What is the BEST and FASTEST way to get a totally transparent / CLEAN vocal in tune? Any tips or tricks you care to share in order to simply fix the vocal in tune?

Ive been messing around with melodyne today and noticed some parts of the vocals go that "CHER" effect..

THANKS!

You have to pay a lot of attention to the transitions between notes. I'm not sure if the demo version has this feature. I've got the full version, and it's pretty great. You may want to check out Melodyne Plugin, it works just like the full version but it only works on one track at a time inside your host program. Some people prefer this as opposed to quitting the DAW, importing audio into melodyne, tuning, saving, reopening the DAW, then importing the new audio. This sounds complicated, but it does untether you from the host program, so you can tune on a laptop sitting on the couch and get out of the studio for a minute.
