UAD 140 VRS Lexicon PCM 60 Hardware Shootout!

Hey all, just got my PCM 60 that was in storage for years back from the shop.
All it needed was a new power cable, ha!
Anyway, I did a little shoot out vrs the UAD 140.
Nothing scientific, but you be the judge.
I used the PCM 60 as an external fx in Cubase SX on my vox track.
01 Vocal No FX
02 Vocal PCM 60
03 Vocal UAD 140

04 Vocal with full mix No FX
05 Vocal PCM 60 with Full Mix
06 Vocal UAD 140 with Full Mix

07 PCM 60 on Snare
08 UAD 140 on Snare

I got if fixed to sell it to finace my solo record coming out in fall.
Wish I could keep it, what do you guys think?
To me it sounds warmer. Again, nothing scientific, just tweeked till I heard what I liked on both units.

Please give it a listen and tell my your thoughts.
Matt

I only listened to the versions mith the mix.

I personally like the no fx version the best, i don't think the settings you chose for the verbs fit the song, both sound very unnatural to me.

It's also pretty hard to compare the sound of 2 verbs when the settings are obviously very different between the 2.

A pcm60 would never ever be my first choice for a vocal, when mixing ITB I have used the UAD on vocals and really think it's great for a plug in, particularly since an emt140 is the last thing I'd ever want in my studio cuz of its size.

Anyway, sorry but I can't really judge anything according to these samples...
