Thread Starter | Paging french slutz : Anybody here worked on Claude Nougaro's embarquement immédiat?
I doubt many people outside of France know who this guy but his work is amazing. Claude Nougaro's (RIP) last album " embarquement immédiat " is a work of art, musically and sonically. The song l'île Hélène has got to be one of my fav songs ever, just amazing, great composition/arrangements/lyrics. I'd love to know how it was made, what was used on Nougaro's voice etc...I read that it was recorded at studio mega by Renaud Letang but that's about all I could find so any info would be great. |

I lived in France for many years and go back often to perform with some artists that have become friends of mine. I only wanted to say how much I respect Nougaro, Higelin(met him once) and Jonasz who are unkown here in the US......a few are aware of Johnny and Gainsbourg.................I think Jeff Porcaro and some other US players performed on his New York (Nougaro York?) album. Anyways, I'm rambling........maybe someone here can help. Why don't you contact Mega....great studio, worked there with Jean Pierre Morgand (Les Avions)......bon chance....

Anyway I agree, there really are some interesting french singers out there that just don't get any international recognition but really that applies to pretty much every non-english speaking countries when you think about it. | |
