I've was there yesterday.
Kinda booring. Actually, not a lot of things, apart from the ADAM monitors, that were really interesting. I spotted the entire range of Soundelux mics at some dealer stand, but other than that, not one thing comes to mind...

Greetings,
Dirk

been a couple of years now that Frankfurt has little or nothing to offer pro audio wise ...

Even aes europe is getting smaller by the year ... curious to see how 'big' Berlin will be.

The Economicly desperate times in our business are far from over I'm afraid.

Pretty boring stuff coming out of Messe this year.

Probably the most surprising news is that Korg is phasing out the Triton line of workstations. You can read about it here .

Sorry guys but I don't go to the Messe for Pro Audio stuff - I go for feeling like a real pro

Nothing new under the sun - Adam sounded good - I have to make the accoustics at my place and than I'll have a demo.

Did anyone else check out the Amadeus speakers from Paris?

I was impressed.

I hate it when mis-information is spread around... I can imagine 100 people quoting this on various forums over the next year.

The Triton series is not being discontinued. It was an April Fools day joke by some guy, not Korg.

Focusrite Liquid channel was on show, was pretty convincing to me, as far as you can listen to something on a trade show anyway...

Korg Legacy collection was pretty cool on the softsynth side, nice MS20-like controller :-)

Celemony Melodyne system bridge is great: use Melodyne in any host application

Neumann digital microphone

Some cool new Yamaha digital desk (PM5D), and emulation plugins for them

New AKG 414 X-model

Not really pro but Mackie does the console thingy again. They had a 24 channel digitl live desk there and a new digital recording console.
The recording thingy had 2 touch screens and is built around a standard PC. They said you can upgrade basically everything in there. The only thing that stays the same would be the physical desk. They are doing the mic pres on cards so you can insert mic pres from 3rd party manufacturers (but for the time being only Mackie).
The whole thing reminded me at the Sountracs DS3 (or something like that). And that's good in my book .

Check it out if you need a digital desk.

Ah yes, forgot to mention that one, looked pretty cool actually! Plus it doubles as Mackie Control as well and can take UAD-1 card(s).
But then again, it's just a PC with some motorfaders, touchscreens and knobs ;-)
