I believe Studio Projects is made in China (but so are probably Karma Mics, MXL and many more nowadays) but I can't vouch for the quality...

The CAD KBM-412 is pretty decent. It's very tailored. It has a lot more low and and is more clicky as compared to my D112.
Not bad for the money, it definitely gets some use.

You can pick up a D112 for a hundred quid. How much cheaper do you need!

Congrats, the 868 is great and has been my go to kick mic for quite some time.

On the cheap I would maybe go with an Audix i5 or SM57 though, and skip that CAD KBM412 thing. Yuck is my opinion.
