Thread Starter | How do I use My new stuff?
Hello everyone, I'm kinda new to recording and just happened to come across some equipment. It's not much at all but I'd like to use it to start doing some basic recording. The only problem is that I don't know what I need to hook all of this stuff up properly. I would appreciat it you experts could lend me a hand and tell me the best and most affordable way to go about it. Any feed back is greatly appreciated. HERE'S THE LIST OF STUFF: PC Cumputer 7000 spectral > Mackie 24&8 audio mixer > Speakers > presound firewire > cubase SX > diamont 5.0 wave sincerely, dumb?guy |

sell. buy beer. throw a party and invite some ladies (or ladoes) over. crank stereo. enjoy music and company. it's less stressful and way more enjoyable. |

"just happened to come across some equipment"? you don't mean, by any chance, that it "fell off a truck", do you? artnoiser is right... starting to do some basic recording is not something you just get into in your spare time, it is an art... but if you insist on giving it a try then to hook it up you'll need some cables: - IEEE 1394 for the Presound (didn't you happen to mean Presonus?) - 1/4" TRS to whatever the speakers take (RCA, 1/4", XLR) - 1/4" for the Mackie, which you won't need because you don't have a mic anywau |

Basic recording, eh? How about getting one of them micramaphone thinga-ma-bobbies. I hear they help with the whole "recording" part of basic recording. Seriously though, try the "Audio Pro Home Recording Course" or any number of books on the subject. And SERIOUSLY, do get a microphone. If you actually want to RECORD stuff, as opposed to just playing with loops, you're going to need one.
