Click Track In Pro Tools

Hi everyone. I am using Pro Tools M-Powered 7.3. I recorded some drum tracks with a live kit and had the drummer play to the internal click on Pro Tools (I created an Aux track and inserted the Click plug on that for him to hear). He did a pretty good job of playing to the click, but I can hear a few places where he drifted off and I want to manually pocket the drum tracks to the click. I am pretty new to pocketing, but I found a chapter in the book/DVD of "Multi-Platinum Pro Tools" (Focal Press) to be pretty helpful in this regard.
Here is my question, I want to pocket the drums by hand. I don't want to use Beat Detective. Should I print the click to an audio track so that I have someting visual to line the drums up to? Is this a waste of time or should I just use the grid lines in Grid Mode and pocket to that? For some reason, it bugs me that I can't see a wave form with the click track. Would printing the click to an audio track (via a bus) introduce latency and make the pocketing less accurate?

Any advice you have would be appreciated. Perhaps there are some threads on click tracks and pocketing that you could point me towards. I did a search but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks a bunch!

You should be able to use the grid lines/markers in slip mode as long as your bpm is correct and you're on bars/beats, and not min/secs. I would suggest duplicating the playlist on your drum tracks as well.. Use your ear too!
