I have never used Drumagog, but I am definitely looking at it seriously after replacing a bunch of bass drum hits by hand. Are there any other programs that do the same thing but do it better.

if you haven't tried the "gog" yet I recommend it highly. after working with a drummer with a solid kick-foot, but an expressive one (dynamics on accents etc) drumagog preserves these dynamics wonderfully... and I've given up trying to keep up with all the samples they keep trying to give away!

I love Drumagog and highly recommend it! For me, it has been worth every penny.

Somebody recommended Drummagog to me the other day but I know somebody that has battery and it's pretty good. I'm gonna take a look at both and compare the two. The person that recommended it to me uses it a lot and has pretty regular clients and he loves it apparently so it must be pretty good.

I am sure there are other programs that can do the same things as Drumagog can. Drumagog has been one of my favourite plug in purchases, it greatly exceded my expectations and it was extremely easy to use.

I can't speak for anything else but I can wholeheartedly without any hesitation, highly recommend Drumagog

Love drumagog, but apptrigga is amazing too. Also, recently tried the new drum rehab from TL and I'm loving that the most I think. I love the whole layout of the plugin, and I love that it's actually pretty close to sample accurate (close is the key word). Honestly if you stay away from sound replacer, any other option would be just great.

drumagog

well i heard that pro tools uses an autoslice feature but i haven't tried it myself, i played with drumagog and aptrigga, and quite frankly, i wasn't impressed. I still find replacing stuff manually, although extremely time consuming, is still the best and most accurate way to drum edit.

I think Drumagog is doing a better job than doing it manually. The problem with manual replacement is: that it's precise but you'd probably use the same sample over and over again which takes more life out of the track than drumagog does.

It can have 16 different velocity layers, but that's not the main point, more important it triggers random samples in the same velocity range so it does more like a real drummer which doesn't hit the kick the same way twice either. And also the triggering is great and precise. Maybe you were bothered by its latency (which most apps compensate for nowadays) or not running in its best operating mode?

Also great is the phase control you have over the sample. You can really tune in the low end of a kick drum while it's playing.

do u have pt with beat detective?

have a look here Pro Tools 6, 7, Beat Detective Training, Reason, Cubase SX Training Video CDs

have a look at the snare replacement video, i havent tried drumagog or the tl rehab (am stuck with sound replacer) so cant comment on a comparison to them.

Every audio demo on our page was done with Drumagog. Sounds great. Check out how it triggered every little hit on this build up... kick snare and toms are all triggered samples from our disc:

I love the gog.

I think it's not as easy to use as some might make it out to be. It's really easy once you get the hang of it, but it took me a good month to really get the hang of it. Although for some people it may have been quicker because they used it more than I did.

Drumagog is a kickass program that I recommend all the time. I like the program so much that I converted my entire Supersonic library to work with it. I find it indispensable. I use it on just about every band that come through my studio, either for 100% replacement or reinforcement.
