Thread Starter | Yorkville YSM-2P, I'm officially impressed...
So I'm back home on vacation, and I've wanted to do a bit of writing this week. So I packed up my laptop, and got home, picked myself up a cheap interface (Line6 UX-2... Actually a groovy interface for writing) But using my headphones to listen back wasn't doing it for me so I headed down to the local music shop and rented a pair of the YSM-2P's.... I figured for $12/mth i had nothing to lose. These little buggers really kick! For $160/ea street, I'm having a hard time finding any fault with them. (Ok so they hiss a little bit, and the input trim isn't stepped... I'm nitpicking) On really clean bass prominant stuff (Bela Fleck/Vic Wooten currently) they're really nice and tight, good detail in the mids, really make Vic's bass sound right, and a surprising amount of punchy deep low end for a 4.5" driver... Not that I'd use these all the time, but in a pinch I think I could mix on them and it wouldn't turn out half bad! These would definately be worth a look for anyone looking for a small budget monitor, or another reference, or even for a small mobile rig. I'm happily surprised! thumbsupthumbsupthumbsup
