to all pod owners!

Hey Im getting a Fender blues Junior here soon. I've always had a flextone II which is basically an amp version of a pod. So as of now i have no pedals or anything to hook up to the blues junior. I want to use the flextone as my effects pedal (i have the floorboard).
Whats the best way to "bypass" the amp models? Would be selecting the tube preamp model be the best?
I really like the effects but I dont want to ruin the tube sound?

I would plug the guitar into the flextone, send out to the fender and a dummby cable into the headphone jack for that line6 A.I.R. recording thing.

I don't think that is possible. It is a guitar amp after all. Maybe you could use the tube pre model if it has it.

It does have the tube pre model on it. A flextone II is basically the same thing as a pod, I dont even know the differences.

POD and POD 2 always have a model on as far as I know.

The Pod, and most digital modelers for that matter, has output options for the different types of amps that it could be connected to. There is a studio direct option, which is basically designed for a full range system. There are options for use with guitar amps, like combos or stacks. These basically eq the output so they sound like they should through those types of amps.

The Pod is designed to be used with guitar amps, so don't be afraid to experiment with all the different amp models anyway. Many classic guitar tones were created with various combinations of amps, preamps, boosters or whatever works - tweak away. And don't be afraid to use the cab models into a guitar amp either - just consider them to be preset eq curves.

The Bassman is a fairly good clean model. Also the Spinal Puppets model at low gain is very clean.

I have a Podxt, but i've pretty much replaced it with analog pedals and tube amp heads. It's not snobbery, there really is a difference that I like.

Kiwi, I just want to make sure that I will still get the benefits using my tube amp if I have a pod connected, that's my main concern.

you will. or at least should . . .

I was in the same boat, I REALLY dig line 6 fx but hated the amp sims. but I was using it only in the studio, so I went and got the mod/filter/dly pro's used to replace all the fx . . .

thinking of getting an mm4 for my live rig . . .

There should be a direct line out on the back that bypasses the power
section. If not, you could use the send portion of the f/x loop and go
into your Fender. The Flextone is the same thing as a POD, only w/ a
power amp. You could probably find some cool sounds doing this.
