Would the i88x preamps do the SM7 any justice?

Would the i88x preamps do the SM7 any justice? It has enough gain for it. I was thinking about grabbing an API or Great River pre, but $1000 is steep when my pre may already suffice. I want the SM7 because my room sucks.

You're in NYC, I'm wondering if you can borrow an sm7 from a gearslut there? I would try that and make up your mind after hearing it. Otherwise you'll have to find a vendor that will let you audition it.
