| Mogami 2549 Cable - What are the clear nylon wires? I am about to start my first cable creation endeavor. I'm armed with 100' of Mogami 2549, a bunch of neutrik XLR connectors, a new soldering iron, solder, and clamp. It is my understanding that blue goes to Pin 2 and transparent goes to Pin 3. Then I wrap the shield to form a pointy cable and then solder that to Pin 1. Correct? If so, then what the heck are the two small clear nylon wires running alongside the blue and transparent??? I'm holding off on soldering anything until I get some Gearslutz assistance. Thanks! - Rob |

| pin 1=ground (twist the shield and solder.) pin 2=hot (i put blue there. blue=2..easy to remember) pin 3=cold (solder the clear one) the other 2 "wires" shouldn't have any wire in them. They are for spacing etc. from what I understand. Keep the amount of wire you strip at a minimum and you'll find that it is easier to keep them out the way once you solder and try to stuff it in the connector. I've only made about 10-15 cables, but they've all worked so far. good luck. |

| Those clear nylon strings that don't have a wire in them are just used during manufacturing I think they are the guides that pull the blue and clear wires through the outsight jacket. So cut them get your cables done.
