Scarlet - This Was Always Meant To Fall Apart

Now..

This album "Scarlet - This Was Always Meant To Fall Apart" has a bit of sarcastic name because they have split up after the singer decided to go do something else.

I REALLY like.. not just like but LOVE this album. I liked the first album but this one has a kind of more sophisticated sound, melody and overall musical feel to it. I feel like they were more thinking on the sound and melodies when they made this record than the one before.

Now my question is... What do you think of the sound on the record ? Production-wise and just creativity and whatever you think of.

I just like everything about it. The pounding drumsound and superloud guitars with the perfect match of screaming and singing.

Tell me whatever you think about it!

Im the drummer from Scarlet and also produced and mixed the record.

Its funny, I dont like the way it sounds at all. At the time my room wasnt treated well and hated my monitors, so mixing that record sucked (spent a lot of time in the car).

I really wish I could remix it with my current setup. I'm much more excited about the quality of work I'm doing now.

Glad you like it!

Maybe, you're just too close to it.

Once the sound is locked in your fans minds, it's best not to dick with it, that's my thinking.

I DESPISE remixes and "remastering" of my favorite records... if a favorite record has flaws and I love it, I probably love the flaws, too.

Derek and the Dominos is by many standards a pretty bad sounding record, distant, muddy drums, awash in room sound, equipment noise, hum, hiss everywhere... but don't touch one thing if you wanna stay on my good side.
